Театральные выходные Минского семейного клуба

Even in summer, the participants of the "L.I.S." Studio Theater of the GCB Minsk Family Club do not give up their passion, so they decided to spend the first weekend on July 4 and 5 under the sign of the ancient theater.

Two eventful days were filled with stories about the appearance of the theater and its significance in the life of the ancient Greek polis. Tatiana Shilova, director of the studio theater, spoke about the structure of the theater, the first performances, playwrights' competitions, the process of creating performances and the evolution of dramatic conflicts using the example of the most striking plays of ancient Greece. Philologist Ekaterina Shevtsova helped to understand the origin and meaning of theatrical terms, the construction of poetic dimensions and the approximate sound of plays in the original, the mythological basis of ancient Greek tragedies and the innovations of playwrights. The artist Piotr Prokhorov, talking about his trip to Delphi, helped to imagine the natural environment of the ancient Greek theater, and the restorer Anna Vygonnaya drew attention to the symbolism of details, the staging of figures and poses to designate the characters, their inner state and relationships using the example of ancient sculpture and vase painting.

Such a deep dive inspired an attempt to stage an excerpt from Aeschylus' play Prometheus Chained. In the process, the participants of the studio theater became aware of the role of the Choir in the ancient theater - an ensemble of performers who acted as a whole not only as creators of the atmosphere, but also as a narrator and a reflector of the hero's state, his words and meanings. Studio participants also had to overcome some difficulties in reading the verse – keeping the size, rhythm and meaning, giving intonation accents, as well as some difficulties in attuning the Chorus and keeping the ensemble's attention on the hero.

The excerpt was shown on Sunday evening during the final meeting of all those who came to the GCB educational center for a creative weekend. At the same time, the kids – children from 2 to 11 years old – showed their observations of animals, and the audience had to guess the created images.

An interesting addition to the weekend program was a mini-competition on the Cuboro construction game. The teams of adults and children had to complete three tasks – to make a design according to the scheme, correctly arrange the cubes according to the pictures, and construct their own "aqueduct" with two "roads". The teams performed on equal terms. The main thing was to bring the participants together to complete a common task.

Time flew by very quickly. It even seemed to some that not two days had passed, but two weeks – the weekend program was so intense and full. And, perhaps, the knowledge and experience gained these days will become the basis for new productions in the new season.
