The International Cultural and Educational Project
“Dialogue of Centuries”

In the history of civilization, there are milestones, i.e. events, that dramatically change its destiny. In order to understand what has changed and which road the humanity has turned to, you need a distance, perhaps, of a hundred years. These events reach us through historical works, chronicles, and memories of contemporaries. However, nothing except literature and art can transfer better the spirit of time, its aspirations and desperation, mistakes and finds, images of the people who preceded us, and the life itself on this earth.

The Project has been implemented since 2012

THE PROJECT’S OBJECTIVES:

  • To increase public interest in literature and art, world classics, their role in cultural and spiritual search for addressing challenges of the past and present.
  • To link generations through history, traditional values, joint creative, cultural and educational activities.
  • To unite creative people and organizations for creating a general cultural environment.
  • To help the young to see that wars and violence are not ways out of difficult situations and do not address either local or global problems but aggravate them.

MAIN EVENTS OF THE PROEJCT:

  • International creative workrooms;
  • International public and scientific readings;
  • Essay competition;
  • Work of the exhibition commission on the organization of the final exhibition;
  • A series of mobile exhibitions and cultural and educational events in museums and libraries;
  • Literary readings.

Basing on creative forces and initiative of partners in regions, the Project covers the wide audience in the CIS and other countries.

The Project is open for proposals and initiatives. For the second year in a row, the CGB Minsk Family Club of the Belarusian Orthodox Church at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Minsk, together with the Synodal Department for Family Affairs, Maternity and Childhood Protection of the Belarusian Exarchate, initiated the Candlemas Family Gathering, which brought together parents and children from different dioceses of Belarus on February 13-14, 2026.

Upon completion of the contests juries work within the International Art and Ecological Project "In My Homeland" from February 5 to 7, 2026, artists and teachers exchanged views on topical issues of art education within the framework of the conference "Modern Art Education for Children and Youth", which was held at three venues in Smolevichi and Minsk.

Together with the big art review of the 21st International Painting and Graphics Contest "In My Homeland" on February 1-4, 2026, the jury of animation and photography contests were held. The jury boards consisted of professional photographers, cameramen, teachers, animators, directors and film critics from Belarus and Russia.

For many years in early February, the GCB educational center is filled with vivid images created by young artists. This year, children's creativity blossomed into the winter whiteness on February 1-4, 2026 during the work of the jury of the 21st International Painting and Graphics Contest "In My Homeland".

As usual, professional artists, teachers and art historians from Belarus and Russia became members of the jury. Representatives of China also joined the observers this year.

Vladimir Shevtsov, director of the Green Cross Belarus, and coordinator Natalia Sviatkina took part in the International Forum "BRICS Countries: Environmental Aspects of Development and Cooperation" held in Moscow on 5-6 June 2025.

The Forum was timed to coincide with World Environment Day and brought together environmentalists, scientists, specialists and members of the public with significant experience in studying and solving environmental problems.

If spring is planting time for school gardens, it is harvest time for the participants of the project "In My Homeland". Exactly in spring the winners of the contests of the International Art Project "In My Homeland" reap the fruits of their creative labour and receive awards, the main of which is work in the exposition of the final exhibition of the art contest "In My Homeland".
