Annual National Ecological Festival for Schoolchildren and Youth

`EARTH DAY. BELARUS`

Each year on April 22nd millions of people take part in the international ecological action "The Day Of The Earth".

For centuries the Earth has been the home of human race. People are born into this world, live and die leaving behind memories, thoughts, acts and feats or sometimes only a handful of dust. We speak different languages, worship different gods. And our planet is the only thing we all share. The Earth joins us together. It is the link between our ancestors and descendants (the preceding generations and those to follow). It is ONE for all of us.

The Earth is everything that surrounds us, but first of all it is our home, parents, friends and teachers. It is the town or village we live in, the nearest forest, meadow, field and river. All of these are unique and irreplaceable.
On the Day of the Earth let us all try to realize the infinite value of everything that exists on the planet. Let us do good to our neighbors and friends, to our streets and towns, to our Earth. And a miracle won`t fail to ensue: new verses, essays and songs, drawings and photographs will tell others about your love for the homeland.

Thus we devote our National Festival `Earth day. Belarus` to this idea.
